PayPal is super easy - requires very little administrative effort (time) there is a small fee attached to PayPal but we are a not for profit so it is just pennies.

Banks will charge something like $4.00 for each addition transaction after we have exceeded our limit for the month. For the record, I have never paid those fees, I just hold the checks and wait for the next month to roll around and then deposit them. Its a bit of a Admin time on this end, but thats okay, thats part of my job. So... a bit of extra time administratively and a bit of time delay for some to get their checks cashed. This bothers some but once they know that we do that to not get charged bank fees, they understand.

It really doesnt matter to me. Im just tickled that we get donations. I much rather make it as easy as possible for people to donation and just deal with things on this end to accommodate their gifts.

Hi Beth, Which is best for you? PayPal? What can we do to eliminate those fees, short of a doodle train a la Wells Fargo Pony Express with the cash in a packet on their backs!

Also... it would be a REALLY BIG help if there was a way to combine all money into one check versus a bunch of small checks from a bunch of people. The reason for this is that our checking account is free as long as we keep transactions below a certain amount each month. When we get hit with bunches of checks from these romps, we will have to hold a some and deposit them the next month. The fees for each transaction is so high that we really dont want to ignore those fees... we rather give the money to dogs instead of bankers.

So, if you are accepting checks please just warn people that it may take a few weeks for them to clear.

You have several options. One is to send the money to IDOG admin office using snail mail. The other option is to deposit it and then send the money via PayPal.
Here is a link to donation options and address

In the past, I have collected the money and just sent a check to IDOG for the full amount collected. Have just forwarded directly any checks from others!

I'm glad to be part of this once again and know we'll have great success in raising money for IDOG, in spite of the economy!
Thanks everyone who makes this possible.
Cheers, Kate and Yarra
